This policy explains what data Rift Delve keeps, why, and how you can ask us to delete it. If anything is unclear, write to us.
Who is responsible
The data controller is the Rift Delve team, based in Costa Rica. [Legal name and address: to be completed.] Contact: [support email: to be confirmed].
What we keep
- Waitlist: your email, chosen language, how you heard about us, whether you are a player, creator or press, your referral code (if any) and whether you agreed to receive news, with the date.
- Account (when the beta opens): email, language, country, your game account and characters. The website never stores your password: it goes straight to the game server, which stores it encrypted.
- Technical data: to stop bots and abuse we keep a salted hash of your IP address, never the IP itself.
- In game: what is needed to play (characters, progress, public chat) and gameplay metrics without personal data (for example, how long a dungeon takes) to improve balance.
What we use it for
- Sending the confirmation email and letting you know when there is a beta spot.
- If you opted in separately: game news, at most once a week. One-click unsubscribe.
- Protecting the website and the game from bots, cheating and abuse.
- Understanding what works to improve the game.
We do not sell your data or use it for third-party advertising.
Who we share it with
Only with the services that run the website, and only what is needed: Cloudflare (hosting, database and bot protection), Resend (email delivery) and Discord, if you link your account.
How long
- Unconfirmed waitlist entries: deleted after 48 hours.
- Confirmed waitlist entries: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- Accounts: while they exist. If you delete yours, personal data is erased within 30 days; anonymous gameplay records may remain.
Cookies
The website uses no tracking or advertising cookies. Once accounts exist, a single session cookie will keep you logged in.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data and withdraw your news consent at any time. We answer within the deadlines of Costa Rica’s Law 8968 and, if you live in Europe, the GDPR.
Age
You must be at least 13 to have an account, and 16 to receive news emails in the European Union. [Ages to be confirmed with our lawyer.]
Changes
If we change this policy we will publish it here with the new date and, for important changes, email you.
